Why an active social media presence now helps you get found by AI
More and more people now ask AI for answers instead of scrolling through search results.
If you’ve read my post on
whether your website is ready for AI search, you’ll know this is changing how customers find businesses. New research adds another piece to the puzzle: your social media matters too.
What the research found
SE Ranking studied 100,000 keywords across different business sectors to see which sources show up most in Google results and AI chatbot answers. Links to social platforms appeared in over two-thirds of Google AI Overview responses, roughly a third of AI Mode replies and around 8% of ChatGPT answers. YouTube was the source Google’s AI Overviews cited most often, and Facebook, YouTube and Reddit were cited most in AI Mode. Read the findings yourself >
In simple terms, if you post regularly, AI tools have more of your content to find and recommend. If your accounts have gone quiet, you’re giving them less to work with.
Bring your social feeds onto your website
There’s an easy way to get more from the posts you’re already creating: add a live social media feed to your website. Your latest Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn posts then appear on your site automatically. Here’s why that helps:
- Fresh content without extra work. Your website stays up to date every time you post.
- Builds trust. Visitors can see that your business is active right now.
- Social proof. Real photos, reviews and customer moments say more than any sales pitch.
- More followers. Website visitors can find and follow you on social media with one click.
- Keeps people on your site for longer. Something new to look at encourages visitors to keep browsing.
